You are rich he was poor, he stayed on the cold while you stayed in your warm house but all of a sudden you felt like helping so you promise to get him warm clothes, he didn't ask for it he was use to the cold but your promise get him attached to expectations and he loosened his grip that has survived him all those times.

However you forget to get him those warm clothes and before you thoughts of making amends in the morning it was too late, he was found dead due to excess cold in the night.

You gave him a reason to forget his burdens because of a mere promise, a promise may not mean anything to you but to someone it means everything.
